City Sympony

When first given this city symphony project i really wanted to produce something gritty with a strong urban feel. I went out and took lots of photos in various parts of nottingham, concentrating on build up areas, many of which were decaying and delapidated.

in corrospondance to the 'symphony' element of the project. We took it in a musical sense. We decided to have a score of music running along side the visuals. We composed a track made up entirely of 'city sounds'. Using tram, cars, traffic etc.....

When studying the photos we noticed an abundence of graffiti in them, so we looked more into this. We decided we wanted to produce images that gave the impression that graffiti made the derelict buildings much imoproved, we also juxterposed this with images emphasising decay. This is similar to the track we produced, taking mundane everydqay city sounds, and making them into something funky and listenable.
